Job Summary:
The AI Department of AvodahMed is looking for a medical coder who will work on the development of datasets of patient records labelled with various medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and other information according to established coding guidelines. This role is a Part-time role with 10-20hrs per week.
Job Duties:
1. Review medical records and other documents, including patient-doctor encounter transcripts, patient charts, diagnostic test results, and treatment plans, to accurately assign codes to diagnoses, procedures, and other information as well as to label symptoms, signs, diseases, procedures in these documents.
2. Use coding software and reference materials to ensure that codes are accurate and up to date.
3. Verify the accuracy of codes by reviewing them for completeness and consistency.
4. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
5. Stay current on updates to coding guidelines and standards.
6. Review and resolve coding discrepancies and errors.
7. Perform quality assurance checks to ensure that coding is accurate and complete.
Requirements:To be successful in this role, a medical coder should have strong attention to detail and be able to work accurately and efficiently. They should also have a good understanding of medical terminology and be familiar with coding guidelines and standards. Good communication and organizational skills are also important
